Episcopal Diocese of Vermont Annual Appeal

{loadposition embed}

The Diocesan Council and other leaders who participated in budget deliberations in 2010 recommended that the Diocese initiate an Annual Appeal in 2011 to close the gap between anticipated income and the funds needed to continue and develop important diocesan ministries. They did not feel the timing was appropriate to ask congregations to give more, but in the 2011 Narrative Budget, Council stated, “This appeal will allow us to engage in new or re-visioned programs and ministries. There are many who in the practice of personal generosity will joyfully give to support our mission.”

Diocesan Convention embraced this new initiative in approving the 2011 Diocesan Budget as presented, and contributions in 2011 totaled approximately $50,000.

The Council elected to continue the Annual Appeal for a second year, and Diocesan Convention approved a budget for 2012 that includes a projected income of $65,000 for the Annual Appeal.

The Council and Bishop Ely have encouraged all in the Diocese to give to the Annual Appeal at whatever level is comfortable. Gifts may be made as one-time donations or scheduled over a period of time.

Please add your gift—of whatever amount—so the Council will not have to make difficult choices about cutting an already spare budget for the remainder of the year.
