“Living the Gospel: Connecting Faith and Daily Life”
Workshop coming, June 8-9, 2012, at Bishop Booth Conference Center
Scholarships Available
The Reverend Wayne Schwab, developer of Member Mission resources and Network, will lead a workshop for lay and clergy leaders (one to three per congregation) on connecting faith and daily life. Schwab’s co-leader will be Demi Prentiss, ministry developer and administrative assistant to the bishop of the re-forming Diocese of Fort Worth. Prentiss has been active in ministry development for 25 years.
Participants will practice ways to enable members of their congregations to discern how to live out their baptismal vows in each area of daily life—in each of their daily mission fields: home, work, local community, wider world, leisure, spiritual health, and church life and outreach.
The event begins Friday Evening with dinner and evening prayer at 6 p.m., followed by the first workshop session on “All of your daily mission fields.” Saturday sessions address “Discerning a present mission and your gifts for it,” and “Finding a teammate; next steps.” The event concludes at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The Congregational Suppport and Resources Committee has set aside $1,000 for scholarships for this event. Contact the Rev. Wayne Schwab at 802-482-7743 to apply.
Register by June 5. Registration forms may be downloaded here.
