Middlebury Calls New Rector

The Rev. Susan McGarryThe Vestry of Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Middlebury, Vermont announced on Saturday June 16, 2012 the completion of their process of discernment and calling a new Rector for the community of St. Stephen’s.  On Wednesday June 13 the Ministry Discernment Team presented candidates and the Vestry elected the Reverend Susan E. McGarry to be their Rector. On June 14 Rev. McGarry accepted the call.

The Reverend McGarry was ordained as a priest in 1979 and has been the Rector at St. Aidan’s, Ann Arbor, Michigan since 1990. The Rev. McGarry holds a PhD in Hebrew Bible from the University of Michigan, an MDiv from the Episcopal Divinity School, and a BA in Biology from Oberlin College. The Rev. McGarry will be relocating to Middlebury some time in August with her two children, Lean (pronounced Lee-anne)11, and Thomas, age 5.  Please join us in welcoming Susan, Lean and Thomas to St. Stephen’s in the late summer.
