Rock Point Summer Camp battles a flood
What an extraordinary summer this has been for staff, counselors, and campers at Rock Point Summer Camp! July 4th was no picnic as we confronted a water pipe broken outside the main building of the Bishop Booth Conference Center. The leak was so extensive that the remainder of camping season was in question. The next week of camp was cancelled as staff scurried to clean up the buildings from flood damage.
What made the rest of camp possible was the amazing generosity of Rock Point summer Camp supporters. ALLELUIA!! Rock Point School fed the volunteers who were cleaning up, Holy Trinity Church in Swanton bought us two new picnic tables, Rock Point School lent us two of their picnic tables and the Fournier family bought us a water cooler, Alleluia! Many folks in the diocese have been praying for us, a wonderful staff has worked extra hard to adjust the schedule and volunteers have come from the community to help run our morning program…Alleluia! Christ is Risen in Our Deeds!
