An Invitation to Senior Wardens, Treasurers, and other lay leaders of the Episcopal Churches in Vermont
Saturday, October 11, 2014
10 am to 3 pm
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, White River Junction
Morning: Conversation with Del Glover
Afternoon: Treasurers’ workshop with Julie Giguere, Financial Administrator
Wardens’ workshop with Lynn Bates, Canon to the Ordinary
Earlier this year, Bishop Ely launched a year-long journey of visioning, discerning, and planning for the Episcopal Church in Vermont. Del Glover is one of three consultants working with us. You may, if you have not done so yet, read about this journey and watch a video of Del at https://www.diovermont.org/Becoming-More-Missional/missional.html.
The focus of Del’s work with the Church in Vermont is to:
• Identify issues related to funding our mission, the personnel needed to support that mission, and the institutional structures that shape and direct our common life;
• Provide information leading to recommendations on income and expenses, organizational restructuring and personnel configurations needed to help the Episcopal Church in Vermont realize and sustain a balanced budget and organizational structure for 2016 and beyond as we seek to be the “Missional Church” God is calling us to be.
Your perspective as a lay leader in your congregation is important to this process. We invite and encourage you to be part of the conversation on October 11 with Del.
In the afternoon on the 11th, there will be time and space for open conversation and questions for Treasurers with our Financial Administrator, Julie Giguere – and for Wardens and other vestry members to meet with Canon Lynn Bates.
Lunch will be provided and we will need a count, so please sign up for attendance no later than September 26th. You can register by using the form HERE.
We look forward to seeing you!
