Those of you following us may remember that in his most recent news Craig reported we were undertaking three ventures to “try on for now” along with a daily commitment to pray for those starting them and for our intentional community as a whole as we discern how to best serve the Rock Point Board’s vision: “To be a welcoming sanctuary of spirituality, creativity, community, education, training and environmental stewardship.”
Craig’s invitation still stands – if you’re interested in any of these ventures, go ahead and let the convener know. 1) Retreats: Enhancing what we do, planning our own, and creating new options: Michael Hechmer, Convener Mhechmer@me.com 802-878-3725 2) Developing Rock Point as a More Prayerful Place: Jackie Arbuckle, Convener, Jackieinvt@gmail.com 802-482-5367 3) Working with Earth Stewards to develop a composting plan for Rock Point: Wendy Grace, Convener, duchs8@gmail.com 802-345-7455
We’ve begun to meet and have some dates you might want to get into your calendars. The first date is Friday, October 10th at 12 Noon. Our venture group working on developing Rock Point as a more prayerful place will offer a creation-themed Eucharist adapted from the New Zealand Prayer Book. Dress is informal. Please join us in St. Michael’s Chapel, Kerr Building, Bishop Booth Conference Center at Rock Point if you’d like to try this on with us.
The second date, mentioned in the previous E-news, is October 18 from 11-3 at the Diocesan Center. (Yes, we know it conflicts with other meetings, and we apologize – there is seldom a time when something doesn’t.) Bring a bag lunch!! This is the first Intentional Community meeting following our retreat. Please let me know if you plan to attend, so you can receive and read any information you will need prior to that meeting. It doesn’t matter if you made it to any of the workshops or retreat, or not. You are always welcome.
The Rev. Jackie Arbuckle
