McClure Fund IV Matching Grant: spring application deadline May 1

4/1/2015

MCCLURE IV Funds continue to be available. Grants may not exceed $2,000 and require a parish match. This match may be in cash or in underwriting expenses. For example, parishioners who give food to a food pantry or community dinner may count the value of this towards the $2,000. Last year McClure IV made seven grants. Food ministries topped the list. Others included summer camp for children of incarcerated parents and a health clinic. May 1st is our spring grant deadline. The next deadline is in October.

The Domestic Outreach Committee of the Alleluia Fund has the responsibility for the oversight and approval of grant applications for domestic outreach projects. Available funds are dependent on the success of the Alleluia Fundraiser during Eastertide.

Congregations, as well as outside organizations are invited to request funds for projects they feel called to sponsor. Habitat for Humanity, food banks, shelters, thrift stores and fuel assistance and social justice initiatives are only a small sample of the ways diocesan funds have been used to extend our mission to our communities. Priority for Alleluia Fund support will be given to projects that deepen the connection between the church and the community through the involvement of Episcopalians.

The Alleluia Fund for Domestic Outreach is similar to the McCLure IV Initiative with three exceptions: 1) the Alleluia Fund does not require matching funds from a parish; 2) application can be made by a non-parish organization; and 3) ultimate responsibility for McClure IV grants rests with the Domestic and Social Justice Committee.

Applications for funding of domestic outreach activities can be made using the combined McClure Initiative IV/Alleluia Fund for Domestic Outreach form. Applications should be submitted to Stewart Pierson – submission information is on the form. For information on International grants, please visit the Global Reconciliation Committee page
