The following comes from the Cathedral Church of St. Paul:
Many, many thanks to all who contributed in so many ways to making our participation in the Pride Parade such a success. St. Paul’s is an open and affirming congregation and it showed on Sunday. There was great participation from LGBTQ folks and allies. We all wore tiaras and white feather boas. Three of us were the brides dressed in bridal white with veils, emphasizing that the Episcopal Church is in full support of marriage equality. One of the signs read: “The Episcopal Church Marries You!” A wonderful crowd from St. Paul’s accompanied the float, including our deacon the Rev. Stan Baker and the new rector at Holy Trinity, Swanton, the Rev. Rob Spainhour. We were very surprised to learn we had won one of three prizes, for the most shining float. It was a glorious day!
