Love Heals: 2016 Diocesan Convention Highlights, Resources & Downloads

The theme for the 184th Diocesan Convention of the Episcopal Church in Vermont—hosted November 4 and 5 at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Burlington—was Love Heals, and our special guest was the Rev. Becca Stevens, founding director of Magdalene and Thistle Farms. Located in Tennessee, Magdalene is a residential community for women who have survived lives of prostitution, violence, and abuse.  The women live together and support each other through the work of Thistle Farms, a nonprofit bath and body-care business.

Stevens is a renowned speaker, author and Episcopal priest. In 2011, the White House named Stevens a “Champion of Change” for her work against domestic violence. She has been featured on CNN, in the PBS documentary, “A Path Appears”, and was named Humanitarian of the Year by the Small Business Council of America.

Check out the complete Diocesan Convention page for videos highlights featuring Stevens, the Rt. Rev. Thomas Ely, our panelists from five prominent Vermont agencies who joined us to discuss the issue of human trafficking locally, and other inspirational guests. We’ve also included downloadable content, which you are welcome to share.
