Rock Point Lenten Retreat April 7-8, 2017

Rock Point Lenten Retreat April 7th (**5 – 8:30 pm) and 8th (7:30 am – 3:30 pm), 2017

“Living with Intention: Body, Mind, Soul” (a quiet retreat)

**This year we have an optional extra for the retreat. Since the Rock Point Intentional Community’s monthly Eucharist is already scheduled for 12 noon on April 7 (Bishop Ely will be presiding), you may choose to start your retreat with that and stay for the rest of the afternoon until registration and hors d’oeuvres at 5pm, followed by dinner, the first session and Compline.

The retreat theme speaks to both the ending of Lent and of moving into the new life brought by Spring and the upcoming Easter season. As we shaped the content at our first planning meeting we found ourselves talking about intentionality.  I am reminded of the UK’s Northumbria Community’s “How, then, shall we live?”

It is a quiet, but not silent retreat. We will observe The Great Silence between Compline and Morning Prayer. There will be one or two tables set aside in the dining room for those wishing to observe a silence during meals. During sessions and personal time conversations will be quiet.

There will be four sessions during Friday and Saturday:  Intentional Spirituality; Card Painting with Water colors; Meditative Yoga (for Everyone); and a Pilgrimage Walk. Worship will include Eucharist; Night Prayer/Compline; Morning Prayer and a Service of Introspection. Spiritual Direction will be available. SugarSnap’s food will be, as always, incredibly good.

This year, also, you will be able to register online here: https://form.jotform.com/70604345835961 . If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 802-482-5367 or email JackieinVT@gmail.com.
