Global Reconciliation Committee Proclaims Alleluia!

Global Reconciliation Committee Proclaims Alleluia!

During the Easter season ministries that have received grants from the Alleluiafund share their stories of how God has worked in and through them to serve God’s people. Amazing things are possible when generous hearts set their minds on seeing Jesus and helping others to do the same. Consider this story from one of our 2016 grant recipients:

I see Jesus. You can, too.

“I saw Jesus.

“More specifically, I saw the wounded Christ in my brothers and sisters in Haiti beginning in 2010 when an earthquake devastated lives, homes and Holy Trinity Cathedral. When I look at these pieces of the shattered cathedral, I remember the sound of violin classes being held among the ruins. But through the Global Reconciliation Committee we’ve been able to take part in the rebuilding of that cathedral and community for the past seven years. Today I see the resurrected Christ in those brothers and sisters in all the complexities of their situation. With support from Alleluiafund our campaign to bring back the cathedral and the music school continues.

“The work in Haiti is Just one example of how I see Jesus. I also see Christ risen in our deeds at the Al Ahli Arab Anglican Hospital in Gaza, the International Rescue Committee’s work in Syria, Friends of Petrus School in Peshawar, and Critosal’s Victim Assistance and Advocacy work in El Salvador.

“I could go on, but you get the picture. There’s a song that I like that says we are all blood brothers and sisters, and that’s the spirit of Global Reconciliation. I see Jesus in my blood brothers and sisters around the world.”

The Rev. Canon Lee Alison Crawford, Vicar
Church of Our Saviour, Killington, Vt.
