Registration Now Open for 2017 Vermont Diocesan Choir Day
By the 2017 Vermont Diocesan Choir Day Committee
With 46 congregations across the Green Mountain State, each with its own personality and call to local mission, we remember that the Episcopal Church in Vermont is yet a single body. For the past few years, Vermont Diocesan Choir Day (VDCD) has encouraged unity while celebrating the musical tradition of the wider Church. Excitement is building for this year’s event, and registration is now open!
The VDCD Committee cordially invites choirs and individual singers, organists, and choral directors to join in the much-anticipated program of workshops, prayer and choral singing at St. James’ Episcopal Church, 2 St. James Place, Woodstock, Vermont, on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 4:45 PM.
Planned workshops and presentations include:
- The Office of Compline – Enriching Parish Worship Possibilities
- The Music of Hildegard von Bingen
- RSCM – Support and Resources for the Musician and Parish
- Anthem Sharing
The day of study, fellowship and music will conclude with a traditional service of Choral Evensong sung by the participants and open to the public. The Rt. Rev. Thomas C. Ely will officiate.
There is no charge for the day’s events, but advance registration by choirs and individuals is necessary. Participants should bring a bag lunch. Beverages will be provided.
For registration, more information, a repertoire list and music files please contact Carl Schwartz, Coordinator by email (ruxtoncar@aol.com) or by phone at (301) 221-4815.
