Sharing Stories Through the Episcopal Asset Map: Crisis Management Tool Doubles as Evangelism Platform
“The Episcopal Asset Map has been everywhere these days,” as reported by Episcopal Relief & Development recently. During her plenary address at Missional Voices, Tamara Plummer, Asset Map Coordinator, spoke about the role of the Asset Map in sharing stories.
Plummer explained how the act of storytelling, a powerful form of evangelism, also serves to reveal the unique gifts that a congregation has to offer. This meets two key objectives of the Asset Map, which began as grassroots effort seeking to inventory both the tangible and intangible assets of the Episcopal Church in order to readily align needs with resources in times of crisis.
The Episcopal Church in Vermont participates in this effort, and many of the congregations within the diocese have either completed or begun the Asset Map Survey.
Visit the Asset Map Survey at https://edvt.episcopalassetmap.org/ and check the listing for your congregation or institution. If the information needs to be update, please contact your clergy or lay leader, or send an email to communications@dioceseofvermont.org for assistance.
