First Call to Convention: Location and Date: This is the first call to all delegates, alternates, and other members of the Episcopal Church in Vermont to the 185th Annual Convention of the Diocese of Vermont. The convention will be held at Jackson Gore Village in Ludlow, Vermont on Friday, November 3rd, and Saturday, November 4th, 2017. This first email contains information that will assist you in making plans to attend Convention.
E-mail Communications: You are receiving this e-mail because we show you as a delegate, alternate delegate, or a person with a leadership role in the Diocese of Vermont. If we are incorrect and you wish to “unsubscribe” to these emails, let us know and we will remove your name from our distribution list.
This email and all Diocesan Convention emails to follow contain important information concerning the Convention and the business to be undertaken by Convention. There is a substantial amount of information that will be sent to you over the next three months. Please keep in mind that, though there will be a large volume of information, it is important to familiarize yourself with the information to make the most of your experience as a delegate or alternate to Convention.

Convention Costs and Lodging Information:
- The registration fee is $55.00 per person and includes Friday and Saturday events and a bagged lunch on Saturday.

Diocesan Convention Overview:
The theme for the Diocesan Convention will be Declare Dignity, and our special guest will be Dr. Donna Hicks, renowned author of Dignity: The Essential Role It Plays in Resolving Conflict. Donna has over 20 years of experience and has acted as a facilitator during international conflicts in the Middle East, Sri Lanka, and Cuba. She has also helped to transform the working environments of World Bank, the United Nations as well as the Senate of Columbia. As a co-host with Archbishop Desmond Tutu on the BBC show Facing the Truth, Donna was a key member of a three-part television series which brought victims and perpetrators of the Northern Ireland conflict together to find resolution.
