Vermont Diocesan Facebook Page Poised to Share Entries!

Thanks to the efforts of supporters in Vermont and beyond, 5,225 performers participated in 350 events across 43 states in the first ever “Concert Across America to End Gun Violence” last September. This year, Concert Across America (CAA) has made it even easier to participate. From September 21-24, 2017, CAA is asking choirs and groups to video themselves singing “Nothing More”—a song that speaks to the importance of dignity—and upload their performance to social media using #ConcertAcrossAmerica or email the video to Diocesan Communications Minister Maurice Harris, mharris@dioceseofvermont.org.

Calling all cantors!

Cantors, please plan to video your version of “Nothing More” prior to Rosh Hashanah or at a time that is convenient for you. Remember to post it on social media anytime between Thurs., Sept. 21 (International Peace Day), and Sun., Sept. 24, using #ConcertAcrossAmerica.

CAA describes the 2017 event as “a low barrier entry and non-confrontational way to recruit new advocates to the gun violence prevention movement, as well as a beautiful way to celebrate the peace activists in all of our communities.”

Concert Across America is endorsed by Bishops United Against Gun Violence.

The organization is endorsed by Bishops United Against Gun Violence, of which the Bishop Thomas Ely is a member.
