Rock Point Logo Contest: A Call for Entries through November 10

Rock Point Logo Contest – A Call for Entries

Artwork Accepted Now through November 10

Rock Point is a special place of wonderment and rejuvenation, of discovery and transformation; where friend and stranger, teacher and student, parent and child, reconnect with the land, themselves, and each other. Whether through the soil-tilled gardens, the trails used for contemplation, the Rock Point Camp, Rock Point School, or Bishop Booth Conference Center – Rock Point’s 130 acres connect all who visit this welcoming sanctuary in the heart of Burlington. Please help us convey this message in a new logo!

From now through November 10, the Rock Point Brand Team is accepting entries for the Rock Point Logo Contest. The winning logo, to be announced in early 2018, will be used in various media, including, but not limited to, online, print, and merchandise. Just think, people everywhere could visually recognize and connect with the experiences they share at Rock Point with your artwork!

There are great prizes! Runners-up will receive a certificate of appreciation signed by the Rt. Rev. Thomas C Ely. One grand prize winner will receive:

  • A $100 discount coupon toward a week at Rock Point Camp 2018.
  • A complimentary individual, two-person, or family Rock Point Visitor’s Pass good for one year.
  • A complimentary overnight stay at the Bishop Booth Conference Center with winner’s choice of a single-, double-, triple-, or quad-occupancy room.
  • A gift basket of Rock Point honey, maple syrup, herbal medicines or balms, blackberry jam, and photographic cards.
  • The honor of identifying him/herself as the logo designer.

All entries must contain, or be identifiably inspired by, the image of an eagle soaring over Rock Point’s iconic Overthrust at Bishop’s Rock. This image should not be photographic. The logo may also contain the words “Rock Point” but no other text.

The eagle gives oversight and perspective, and reinforces the connection of the Diocese to all sectors of the Rock Point community. For some the eagle represents John the Apostle as it transcends heaven and earth. For others, the eagle is a symbol of power, resurrection, and bravery, connected with the sun and heaven.
