Free 2018 Lenten Study Books Now Available to Congregations
Lent begins on February 14, 2018, and the time to prepare is now! The Society of Saint John the Evangelist recently released its latest Lenten study series, Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John. Courtesy of Bishop Ely, a limited supply of books will be available free-of-charge to individuals and congregations who request them. Those interested are encouraged to place an order right away.
The diocese has procured 1,000 copies, and if the popularity of last year’s Lenten study is any indication, the books may go quickly. Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John will make its debut at Diocesan Convention, where copies will be on hand for attendees to take with them.
Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John invites participants “to consider the impact that intimacy with God can have on our shared commitments as well as our personal being.”
In addition to the book, the series includes access to online videos, downloads, and a social media community to enrich the experience. To place an order, please contact Maurice Harris, diocesan communications minister, at mharris@dioceseofvermont.org.
