CRAGVT Partners with Rock Point to Provide New Climbing Opportunity
Burlington, VT – Climbing Resource Access Group of Vermont (CRAG-VT), the local climbing access group and Access Fund affiliate, is excited to announce a collaborative agreement between Rock Point and CRAG-Vt that will allow climbers to enjoy a new local climbing opportunity. Lone Rock Point is a spectacular and unique limestone cliff less than one mile from downtown Burlington, VT. It offers an amazing setting with difficult, overhanging climbing routes and magnificent views on the shores of Lake Champlain.
Through a collaborative agreement reached between the Rock Point Center and CRAG-Vt, climbers will be able to enjoy this new local climbing opportunity and contribute as stewards to the enhancement of the Rock Point property for all users.
“Limestone is a unique and scarce resource for climbers in Vermont and we are so pleased that Lone Rock Point will be available to climbers.” said Seth Maciejowski, President of CRAG-VT. “Lone Rock Point provides Burlington climbers the opportunity to truly ‘climb local’ and cut down on their carbon footprint.”
This project was completed through the generous financial assistance of the Outdoor Gear Exchange’s (www.gearx.com) Charitable Grant Foundation. Material donations were made by Curtis Lumber’s (www.curtislumber.com) Burlington location. More information on climbing at Lone Rock Point including rules and regulations may be found at www.cragvt.org.
