‘Help & Hope: Creating Faith-based Connections for Disaster Planning, Response and Recovery’ Summit to Take Place in Canton, MA on Apr. 12
Join us for “Help & Hope: Creating Faith-based Connections for Disaster Planning, Response and Recovery” on April 12 from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the Salvation Army, 25 Shawmut Ave., Canton, MA. Hosted by the Emotional and Spiritual Care Committee under the Massachusetts Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD), and The Salvation Army, this summit will introduce attendees to local and regional resources that are poised to assist them in disasters. The summit will feature presentations by the New England Disaster Chaplaincy Association, FEMA Region 1, MA Emergency Management Agency and many others.
The keynote speaker will be the Rev. Christina Belogour. She holds both her M.Div and her doctorate in pastoral psychology from Boston University and has served as associate pastor of First Baptist Church, Boston as co-director of the Myrtle Pastoral Counseling Center in West Newton and has taught numerous psychology courses at Bay Path University. Her seminar topics have focused on public speaking, clergy self-care, and trauma work. She is also an author of children’s books and is currently serving as a pastoral counselor in private practice in Wellesley, MA.
