The Episcopal Diocese of New York Reparations Committee on Slavery organized a screening and discussion of the 2016 film The Birth of A Nation as part of its Year of Lamentation to examine the diocese’s role in slavery. It’s one of a growing number of events across the US as the Episcopal Church seeks racial reconciliation and healing among its congregations and wider communities.
