Province 1 Deacons’ Conference: Deacons Calling the Beloved Community to Action

Province 1 Deacons’ Conference: Deacons Calling the Beloved Community to Action

Friday, September 28, 2018 5:00 PM –
Saturday, September 29, 2018 4:00 PM

Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center
1657 Worcester Road, Framingham, MA 01701

About the Conference:

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry describes the Jesus Movement this way “ We’re following Jesus into loving, liberating and life-giving relationship with God, with each other and with the earth.” As bridge builders between their congregations and the world, Deacons are already standing at the threshold of the church, ready to help others venture out and discover that life giving relationship with God.

We each have a story. How can we use those stories so that they become powerful tools to help inspire others to discover how God is moving in their lives? How are we companions to those around us and help them enter the Jesus Movement as a way of life, no matter where we live out our ministries as deacons?

This year, we have two energetic and inspiring speakers who will explore the unique role of the Deacon in the Jesus Movement: (1) Keynote speaker the Rev. Melanie Mullen, the Episcopal Church’s director of reconciliation, justice and creation care and (2) Darreby Ambler, founder of Wayfinders discernment ministry. Learn more about the conference speakers.

Cost of conference: $200. Spend the night at the conference hotel: $119+tax (group rate until 8/28)
