From the Transition Committee
The Transition Committee held an orientation retreat on Friday, September 7. We wish to thank the people of St. Barnabas, Norwich for their hospitality and the use of their beautiful, solar-powered space. The Rev. Gary Butterworth, a consultant also working with the Standing Committee and BDNC, met with us to walk through the tasks and anticipated timeline that will be involved in the transition from the point when the slate of candidates who will stand for election is announced and leading to the consecration of the 11th Bishop of Vermont. The committee will hold an organizational meeting this Saturday, September 22 at Christ Church, Montpelier. We’ll continue to provide updates here as we and our sub-committees work behind the scenes to prepare for the events that will help us meet the candidates, elect, welcome, and celebrate the consecration of our next bishop, and bid Tom and Ann farewell. There will be many opportunities for folks to join us in various aspects of this work, so please consider joining us when we call for volunteers.
