Diocesan Financial Oversight & Audit Committee Is Seeking at Least One Clergy, One Layperson
The Diocesan Financial Oversight and Audit Committee is looking for a few good people – at least one clergy person, and at least one lay person. This committee does unseen but important work to help our congregations fulfill their canonical audit requirements and to improve our financial controls and practices throughout the diocese. Additionally, the committee provides guidance for the diocesan audit process and educational materials to help make this process easier for the participating congregations.
Each member of the committee can expect to receive 7 to 8 audits to review from congregations of all sizes throughout the diocese. A group meeting is held every other month and can be attended in person or by conference call.
For laypeople, this committee provides good service at the diocesan level particularly for those who have been involved with their own audit committees. For clergy, this committee provides important work related to diocesan governance that can be accomplished from one’s own desk.
