Brookhaven Shares Story of Hope and Healing

Owned by The Episcopal Church in Vermont, Brookhaven Treatment and Learning Center offers a safe, nurturing, multi-disciplinary residential treatment environment for boys with severe emotional or behavioral disorders, as well as a Family Learning Center. In his report to the Diocesan Convention, board member Brett Murphy gave an update on a Brookhaven resident whose story was introduced at last year’s Convention. Brett said, “When DCF took him into custody, he was found huddled in a corner of an abandoned trailer on a dirty mattress, surrounded by animal feces, rats, and a bottle of Narcan he was taught to use in case his mother overdosed.” Learn how Brookhaven was instrumental in the boy’s recovery, and view some joyous moments from the past year.
