Province 1 Announces Faith Formation Leaders Gathering with Jerusalem Greer, March 14-16, 2018
Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has issued an invitation for us, in the Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement, to embrace “The Way of Love.” It is based on principles developed by the 1st century Movement, inspired by Jesus, that committed to living the way of God’s unconditional, unselfish, sacrificial, and redemptive love. To help us grow more deeply with Jesus Christ and identify ways we can bear witness to his way of love in and for the world, the Episcopal Church has develop a rich set of resources framed by seven practices: Turn – Learn – Pray – Worship – Bless – Go – Rest (See The Way of Love website). This year’s faith formation leaders gathering is designed to give us experiences of these practices and learn ways to bring them to our communities.
Jerusalem Greer is a member of The Way of Love creation and leadership team. She brings loads of experience from her work with as the part-time Minister of Formation and Connection at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Conway Arkansas, VTS’ Baptized for Life: An Episcopal Discipleship Initiative, and author. You can read more about her and find her essays on her blog, as well as Building Faith and Forward Day by Day. She lives with her husband and two teenage sons in rural Arkansas and, as a family, is attempting to live a slower version of the modern life.
