Disciplinary Board
Effective July 1, 2011, a new Canon 26A pertaining to ecclesiastical discipline of clergy under Title IV of the Canons of The Episcopal Church took effect. In addition, the Dioceses of New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont have agreed to jointly administer and staff matters of clergy discipline under Title IV.
One aspect of the process involves a Disciplinary Board, which serves as a Court to adjudicate such matters, made up of members from all three dioceses. The Board has eleven members—six priests or deacons, and five lay persons—with three selected by each diocese and a fourth selected by two dioceses on a rotating basis each year.
