National research and census data indicate that white people will cease to be the majority somewhere between 2035-2045 due to the combined increase in non-white Hispanics and people of color. In some of our states that reality has already set in. Texas is 45% white, California is 38% white, New Mexico is 37% white, and Hawaii is 24% white. How will the increasing demographics of people of color effect the social, economic, political and military dimensions of race relations in America?
