The Browning of America: Reconciliation or Retribution, October 23

RANDOLPH, VT – National research and census data indicate that white people will cease to be the majority in America somewhere between 2035-2045 due to the combined increase in non-white Hispanics and people of color. In some of our states this reality has already occurred. Texas is 45% white, California is 38% white, New Mexico is 37% white, and Hawaii is 24% white. How will the increasing demographics of people of color affect the social, economic, political and military dimensions of race relations in America? The Rev. Dr. Arnold Thomas will address these questions in The Browning of America: Reconciliation or Retribution, a presentation to be held at Randolph Union High School on Wednesday, October 23 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The Rev. Dr. Arnold Thomas is Pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Jericho, VT. He has done extensive work and ministry relating to human rights.

This event is co-sponsored by FORE (Focus on Racial Equality) and Rutland Area Branch NAACP.
