ESSEX JUNCTION, VT – Age Well, the leading expert and advocate for the aging population of Northwestern Vermont, has reported an urgent need for Meals on Wheels volunteers in Chittenden County, especially in the Burlington area.
Meals on Wheels Volunteer Coordinator Laura Need said, ” We need your help, Age Well is currently in need of volunteers in Burlington, South Burlington and surrounding towns. Meals on Wheels provides so much more than a meal. The moment you knock on that door, you make a connection. The friendly visit, safety check and nutritious meal are a lifeline to many. ”
Laura continued, “I would also be happy to come and speak to your congregation to answer any questions potential volunteers may have and share some of the wonderful experiences our volunteers have had helping to feed those in need.”
The time commitment is based on volunteers’ availability. Volunteers may deliver once a week or once a month, weekdays only, as best fits their schedule.
