Dear People of God in the Diocese of Vermont:
As our parishes, missions and communities continue to recover from this summer’s devastating floods, our Diocesan Disaster Relief Team is hard at work providing assistance and resources for recovery. Thanks to their collaboration with Episcopal Relief & Development, clergy and wardens in charge of congregations can now request funds for assisting people who need help paying for food, gas or shelter as a result of the floods.
If your congregation has flood relief ministry that could use support, your clergy or warden in charge can contact Canon Walter Brownridge at firstname.lastname@example.org or 802-863-3431 to request funds. In keeping with the terms of the grant we have received from Episcopal Relief & Development, these funds cannot be used to repair property damage that can be covered by insurance.
I give thanks for all of you who are making the love of Jesus known by walking with your congregations and communities during this long recovery. If you have questions or need assistance with any aspect of your recovery work, please contact Canon Brownridge.
Thank you, as always, for your ministry and love for our diocese.
Peace and blessings,
