The 2024 Diocesan Convention for the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont was held in three parts:
- The Pre-Convention Hearing took place on November 7 at 6 p.m. on Zoom. Watch a recording on YouTube.
- The in-person programming of the convention took place on November 9 at The Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Burlington. Watch a recording on YouTube.
- The Rev. Canon Dr. Kelly Brown Douglas delivered the keynote address, “Being the Church When Our Very Humanity is at Stake.” Watch the keynote.
- Bishop Shannon preached and presided at the Eucharist. Watch her sermon.
- Our Communion Bread Bake Off was held during lunch at the in-person program. Download the winning recipe.
- The business session of Diocesan Convention, including the bishop’s address, took place on November 14 on Zoom beginning at 6 p.m. Watch a recording on YouTube.
Resolutions
The following resolutions were passed by the convention:
- Adoption of the 2025 Budget for the Diocese of Vermont
- Establishing Minimum Clergy Compensation for 2025
- Amending Canon 8: Delegation to Provincial Synod
- Amending Canon 29B: Brookhaven Home for Boys
- Declaring the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont to be Apartheid Free, as amended.
- Becoming a Sanctuary Diocese
