The Rt. Rev. Dr. Shannon MacVean-Brown

Bishop of Vermont
Charged with the apostolic work of leading, supervising, and uniting the church, Bishop Shannon provides Christian vision and leadership for our diocese.  She is our chief pastor, exercising a ministry of oversight and supervision with particular responsibility for the doctrine, discipline, and worship of the church.

Susan Ohlidal

The Rev. Canon Susan Ohlidal

Canon to the Ordinary for Missional Vitality
Canon Susan provides counsel and advice, executive assistance, administrative expertise, and other related support to the Bishop as needed, sharing in the pastoral oversight of the diocese. She is responsible for policy issues, ministry development, and pastoral care for clergy.  She also works with congregations and leaders to facilitate constellations, partnerships, and new expressions of ministry in the diocese.

Linda Grenz

The Rev. Canon Linda Grenz

Canon for Transition Ministry
Canon Linda manages the diocese’s transitions and deployment of clergy and works with congregations and clergy on developing leave-taking practices, creating parish profiles, conducting searches, letters of agreement, and other related activities. She also works collaboratively with other staff in congregational and missional development.

Lisa Hamm

Chief Financial Officer
As our Chief Financial Officer, Lisa oversees our day-to-day financial and budget operations; the diocesan budget process; prepares financial reports for leadership; coordinates the annual audit; assists with grants; supports congregations as requested; and serves as the main contact with our investment manager. She also works directly with the Trustees, the Commission on Finance, and the Executive Council.

Margaret Schotto

Manager for Diocesan Operations
Margaret works with the Bishop and staff to translate diocesan goals into an implementation plan. They manage key projects identified in the strategic plan and work with other staff to coordinate progress in implementing goals.  They serve as the Safe Church Coordinator, manage IT functioning of the Diocesan Office, and serve as the first point of contact with the diocese for congregations and diocesan bodies on all property matters including major improvements, purchases, leases and sales.

Sophie Kitch-Peck

Director of Communications
Executive Assistant to the Bishop
Sophie is responsible for the day-to-day administrative activities of Bishop Shannon’s ministry and those of other senior staff. They are also responsible for oversight of the communications of the diocese including maintaining the website, assembling the diocesan newsletter, assisting the Bishop in drafting her communications to the clergy or diocese, facilitating online zoom calls and the online portion of the diocesan convention.
