Diocesan Institutions

The diocese is formally affiliated with four institutions — Rock Point Commons, Rock Point School, Mission Farm and Brookhaven Treatment and Learning Center — through which it collaborates in ministries of creation care, education and spiritual refreshment. The diocese participates in the governance of each institution, and each institution makes an annual report to the diocesan convention.

Rock Point Commons

Rock Point encompasses 130 acres of publicly accessible conserved lands on the shores of Lake Champlain in Burlington, Vermont. A uniquely intact and valuable wilderness area within the City of Burlington, the property includes hiking trails, a conference center, lodging space, spiritual gathering areas, community micro-agriculture, as well as private housing, Episcopal Diocese of Vermont offices, and the separately managed Rock Point School. The property is owned by the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont and managed by Rock Point Center, LLC, a non-denominational board that delegates management to a small staff.

Rock Point School

Rock Point School is an inclusive, independent boarding and day school for grades 9-12 on Rock Point Commons. A small school with a non-traditional curriculum, it maintains a nearly one-to-one ratio between students and faculty and staff. Its location on a quiet, wooded campus of Lake Champlain offers students a natural retreat-like space without distractions to focus on learning, yet access to all that the City of Burlington has to offer. The school is a member of the Association of Independent Schools in New England and the Independent School Association of Northern New England.

Brookhaven Treatment and Learning Center

The Brookhaven Treatment and Learning Center is a Vermont approved Independent School with a therapeutic and family based educational curriculum for residential and day students.  At Brookhaven we are committed to providing quality clinical and educational programming for male youth with severe emotional/behavioral issues, developmental trauma, and  learning difficulties.

Our comprehensive residential treatment program is designed specifically for youth whose difficulties have become so severe that removal from their home environment is essential to the treatment process. We provide them  with therapeutic milieu services, intensive therapeutic services, individual, group and family therapy, case management services and psychopharmacological interventions. We also provide on site educational services (grades K-8) for our residents, as well as, day students from the community.

Mission Farm

Mission Farm and the Church of Our Saviour, Killington stand at the intersection of faith, justice and ecology, seeking worship God, growing and sharing food with the community in a spirit of reciprocity, responding to the environmental crisis with personal, everyday action on the land at Mission Farm, offering hospitality and promoting partnership programs through gardening, bees, yoga, bakery space, trail maintenance and animal feedings.
