Diocesan Convention In-Person Program to Celebrate Period of Experimentation

September 17, 2025

The in-person programming for the 2025 Diocesan Convention is set to occur on October 25 at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul. However, the programming will look a little bit different this year: there will not be a keynote speaker.

Instead, the program will be centered around sharing and celebrating the successes of the three-year period of experimentation that began when the recommendations of THRIVE were enacted at the 2022 Diocesan Convention.

Throughout the day, participants will hear stories of just a few of these experiments and engage in discussions with one another about how they can experiment in their own congregations. Each story will be told by a member of the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont and discussions will be facilitated by the diocesan staff.

The program will also build on Bishop Shannon’s sermon at the 2024 Diocesan Convention where she called on our diocesan household to embrace a “spirit of koinonia.”

The theme of the convention and program is “The THRIVING Spirit of Koinonia.”

The Great Communion Bread Bake Off will be back and judging will take place over lunch. All entries must be gluten free, non crumbly, and still delicious.

The program day will conclude with the convention Eucharist where Bishop Shannon is set to preside and preach. The Eucharist will also include a special recognition for our Constellation churches.

Registration for convention closes on September 26. Register now.
