The General Convention is the governing body of The Episcopal Church. It is a triennial meeting with a bicameral legislature, the House of Deputies and the House of Bishops, and the membership of each house is outlined in Article I of the Constitution and Canons of The Episcopal Church.
The House of Bishops meets twice a year, and Bishop Shannon is an active member.
The House of Deputies meets only during the General Convention, and each diocese is represented by eight elected deputies, four clergy and four lay. The Diocese of Vermont’s next deputation will be elected at the upcoming diocesan convention. Learn more.
The following individuals will represent the Diocese of Vermont as deputies at the 2027 General Convention:
- Clergy: The Rev. Sarah Ginolfi (C1), The Rev. Canon Walter Brownridge (C2), The Rev. Jeremy Means-Koss (C3), and The Rev. Canon Lee Crawford (C4)
- Lay: Luke Krueger (L1), Tom Little (L2), Anne Brown (L3), and Anna Youngmann (L4)
The next meeting of the General Convention will take place July 3-8, 2027 in Phoenix, AZ.
