VIA Hosts Oct. 19 Trip to Poor People’s Campaign in Boston
Vermont Interfaith Action’s Moral Economy campaign strongly aligns with a nationwide movement called the New Poor People’s Campaign, which is spearheaded locally by allied organization, Justice for All. VIA recently announced an opportunity to participate in this movement in nearby Boston. Join VIA for the trip to Boston for the New England Mass Meeting of the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival to meet co-convenors the Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II (initiator of “Moral Mondays” in North Carolina) and the Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis on Thursday, October 19 at 7:00 pm at Trinity Church, 206 Clarendon St.
The event will reveal the inspiration, vision and strategy for the Campaign while helping to foster relationships across the region. Those interested in attending at asked to meet at the Department of Labor in Montpelier, 5 Green Mountain Drive, at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 19.
